Astrology vs. Consciousness: Which One is in Control?

If you are part of the spiritual community then you have likely already heard that you are the creator of your reality. However, if you are like me then you have also probably noticed many correlations between your life and the alignment of the cosmos. How can this be? Listen to an astrologer talk and it will often sound as if the planets are dictating your life. Listen to a manifestation guru talk and they will likely tell you to ignore astrology altogether. So who is correct? In my opinion…they are both right and wrong.

Your thoughts, words, and energy are absolutely creating your individual reality. Astrology, however, is both unique to you and more broad. The simple fact that astrology works is because everything in existence is composed of energy and derived from the same source or creator. The first law of the universe is The Law of Oneness meaning that everyone and everything is connected by divine consciousness or the one mind. This means that your thoughts affect you and everyone else around you. It is also the reason why we experience synchronicity.

Astrology is synchronicity on a grand scale. The planets are not dictating our lives. Astrology “works” because it demonstrates the connectedness or oneness of everyone and everything. We are synchronized with all of creation and Divine Intelligence. Astrology is one of the ways the divine speaks to us by highlighting energetic themes. However, how Mars transiting your seventh house or Venus trining Mercury will play out for you is completely dependent on your own thoughts, energy, and relationship with the divine. The astrologer may tell you “Get ready to fall in love” or “Get ready to break up”, but that is complete nonsense. There are infinite possibilities and Divine Intelligence knows not only every possibility, but the perfect possibility, the perfect way regardless of the celestial weather.

For example, for someone who has a miracle minded consciousness, Mars transiting the seventh house may bring a challenge to their relationship or a challenge that they must resolve with their partner, but the outcome can still be wonderful and miraculous with the relationship emerging stronger than ever. On the contrary, someone with a more negative consciousness may very well find their relationship crumbling in the face of the slightest adversity. Astrology provides the broad strokes of the overall energy to be expected, but we are still responsible for our own energy and whether or not we choose to trust in divine intelligence to work everything out on our behalf.

This is the true meaning of “letting go” - trusting in your higher power. This is why it is so important to cultivate a relationship with your higher power which will in turn help you to cultivate faith and build trust making it easier and easier to “let go and let God” (or let go and let the Universe, Spirit, Source - Whatever name or term you prefer).

My platform is all about deepening our relationship with the divine. I believe our universe is synchronistic, because we are all connected, and God is communicating with us all of the time. Astrology is one of the ways he communicates, but astrology is not the power. God is the power, and His power lives within us, and all around us.

As an astrologer I aim to not only understand the chart, but to guide my readers and clients in understanding spiritual law and connecting with our divine power. Florence Scovel Shinn wrote in her books that when we practice spiritual law we are under grace, and not under karmic law which is what so much mainstream astrology deals with, because they have excluded God from the narrative. On the contrary when I study astrology, I think “How could you not believe in God?”. Our universe is a magnificent grand design, and could only be the work of God.
